What needs to be clarified
Review equivalent-level aggregation, durations and descriptors, establishing the interval supported by instrument records.
Materials to prepare
- Timestamped instrument export with descriptors
- Log of durations, gaps and conditions
- Report formulas and calibration information
What to compare
Separate equivalent and maximum levels; check frequency weighting and overlapping periods. Convert compatible decibel values to relative energy, weight by duration and convert back. Show gaps separately without treating them as zero sound or extrapolating to a day.
Possible outcome of the analysis
A reproducible recalculation may list interval contributions, explain differences from the original mean and identify excluded records.
Limits of the conclusions
Recalculation identifies no individual sound source and does not replace assessment of measurement conditions. Gaps prevent automatic daily-level or compliance conclusions.
