Questions and answers
Answers about sampling, laboratories, cost and how to enquire.
Materials and inquiries
How should I begin an enquiry?
Describe the object, time and suspected impact; attach photographs and any available records.
Do I need samples before making an enquiry?
No. The need for sampling and the method are first determined for the particular task.
Do you perform laboratory analysis?
Laboratory work and the involvement of a specialist service provider are agreed separately; the enquiry form does not itself constitute an order for testing.
How should an odour be documented?
Keep information on the time, location, circumstances and possible source; the suitability of this data is assessed individually.
Can soil or water be examined using old test results?
They can be reviewed, but the conclusion depends on the completeness of the reports, sampling method and comparability of the periods.
How do I transfer a physical sample?
First agree on packaging, transport, timing and storage conditions.
Is an inspection of the object needed?
It depends on the task and whether the materials already supplied are sufficient.
Can environmental damage be calculated?
If the necessary source data and an agreed calculation method are available.
Is identification of the contamination source guaranteed?
No. The conclusion depends on the data, observation timing and examination of alternative sources.
Can I order a review?
Yes. Provide the complete opinion with appendices and as much of the source material as is available.
Which questions should be posed for court proceedings?
The questions depend on the object, circumstances and available methods; examples are provided in the question bank.
How much does an examination cost?
Website prices are indicative; final terms are agreed after the task is assessed.
In what form is the result issued?
The paper or electronic format is agreed in the Order Invoice.
Can I send information about other people?
Only where there is a lawful basis; unnecessary personal data should be redacted.
How long is an enquiry retained without a contract?
No more than 90 days from the last substantive message or conversation, unless another basis applies.
Are analytics or the mailing list mandatory?
No. They require separate arrangements and are not needed to submit an enquiry.
