Result

The work results in an expert opinion, review or written specialist position with conclusions that may be used in negotiations, a claim or court proceedings.

Important: if laboratory tests are required, their cost and timeframe are usually calculated separately according to the parameters, number of samples and object.

The cost of environmental restoration must be substantiated by specific damage and the measures needed. The amount stated in the opinion must be linked to the original condition of the object, the extent of the impact and the chosen restoration method.

How the examination is conducted

First, the subject of the calculation is defined. The necessity of measures, quantities, methods of work and source cost data are then checked. The calculation of restoration costs is kept separate from other methods of valuing harm in monetary terms; the approach used is expressly described.

Scope and limitations

The cost of restoration work, a calculation under an established method and the legally determined amount claimed are not automatically the same sum. Incomplete data permits only a limited calculation listing the assumptions.
