Moscow and the Moscow RegionCost: from 35 000 ₽Documents for court proceedings and a claim

When it is used

The service is needed where expert substantiation is required for the circumstances of an environmental dispute: contamination, the source of an impact, a causal link, the extent of harm or shortcomings in a previous examination.

What is analysed

  • documents, records, photographs, video, claims and case materials;
  • the location of the object, possible sources of impact and the sequence of events;
  • laboratory test reports and the correctness of sampling;
  • consistency of the conclusions with the source data and methods;
  • possible restoration and land reclamation measures.

Result

The work results in an expert opinion, review or written specialist position with conclusions that may be used in negotiations, a claim or court proceedings.

Important: if laboratory tests are required, their cost and timeframe are usually calculated separately according to the parameters, number of samples and object.

The value of a laboratory result depends on where, when and how the sample was obtained. Sampling support helps agree on an examination plan and preserve a verifiable link between the sample and the object of the dispute.

Subject of examination

  • Sampling locations, depths and timing
  • Control and background samples
  • Documentation, packaging, storage and transfer of samples

Sample questions for the expert

  • Does the sampling plan correspond to the object and examination tasks?
  • Which locations and control conditions must be recorded?
  • Do the documents allow the provenance of each sample to be traced?
  • Which sampling or storage breaches limit subsequent interpretation?

The final questions are formulated according to the objects and circumstances of the particular task.

What to prepare

  • A description of the object and suspected impact
  • A site plan and information on sources
  • The questions posed and existing laboratory test reports
  • Laboratory requirements for samples, parameters and transfer times

How the examination is conducted

Before the site visit, the questions, parameters and division of work between the specialist and laboratory are agreed. Sampling conditions and sample identifiers are recorded during collection. The documents distinguish who collected, transported and analysed the samples.

Scope and limitations

Packaging, volume, preservation and permissible storage time depend on the object and method. Universal instructions for all samples are inapplicable. Site visits and laboratory work require separate agreement.

What the deliverable records

Sampling support results in an agreed plan and records documenting collection. The laboratory test report is issued by the service provider that actually performs the relevant testing.
